The KLOVER MiK 16 professional parabolic microphone was initially created for baseball stadiums, where the KLOVER MiK 26 could obstruct the fan’s view. Weighing just three pounds, the KLOVER MiK 16 parabolic microphone excels in mobility, making it one of the best parabolic microphones for professionals in a variety of industries. Its smaller size also makes it ideal for security applications where discreet audio capture is needed.
The handheld models (KLOVER MiK 16 and KLOVER MiK 16 Broadcast) are constructed with our new deeper dish that provides a tighter pickup pattern. The new dish provides a pickup pattern very similar to the KLOVER MiK 09 and the KLOVER MiK 26, making it an excellent long-range parabolic microphone for long-distance recording.
The stationary models ("KLOVER MiK 16 Hard Mount", "KLOVER MiK 16 Sound Shield", and the "KLOVER MiK 16 in Enclosure") are still constructed with our original dish. The original dish provides a slightly wider pickup pattern than the KLOVER MiK 09 and the KLOVER MiK 26. (We can build any model with either dish upon request.)

Designed For Safety
PVC is brittle and creates sharp, spear-like edges if broken. Metal parts can also cause serious injury to the operator and athlete. However, our carbon fiber parts crush upon impact. Presenting classes online is becoming more common every year. Streaming video of the instructor is quite easy, and using a wireless mic provides great audio from the instructor. If desired, it is rather straight forward to add a second camera to capture video of the students. The challenge, however, is to capture audio of student questions and interaction.

The KLOVER MiK has been used for prank and reality programs where capturing audio from a great distance is required.
Interviews can be conducted without fuss because there is no need to place a mic on the subject. Depending on the level of ambient noise, the audio captured with our 9-inch KLOVER MiK will be very similar to a lapel mic on the subject from up to 6 or 8 feet.
An unexpected benefit of using the KLOVER MiK is that the audio signal drops off much less when your subject turns their head to the side, as compared to a lapel mic.
The directionality of the KLOVER MiK greatly reduces the amount of ambient, or crowd noise that is captured. This allows your subject to stand out from the background noise. At the same time, the pickup is large enough that more than one subject can be captured with equal levels. You don’t need to worry about the subject speaking while the interviewer has pulled back the mic.

The KLOVER MiK 16 has been used for the MLB playoffs and the World Series. The have also been mounted in several major league baseball parks, both with and without our Klover Box enclosures.
While not providing the same range as the KM-26, the KM-16 also works well for field sports such as football or rugby.

Custom Bracketry
We can create custom bracketry for you to mount our parabolic microphones on poles or pipes of various sizes with various angles. This has been helpful in both broadcasts as well as security applications.
Parabolic Mic Arrays

Custom Enclosure Examples
Two custom parabolic microphone enclosures were created for Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays. They were resized to fit the backstop and a shelf for an optional remote camera was added.
The Minnesota Twins also purchased two custom enclosures for Target Field. They were resized to fit the trapezoidal opening in the backstop. A shelf for an optional remote camera was also added.
Two custom parabolic microphone enclosures were also created for Minute Maid Field, home of the Houston Astros. They were resized to fit the existing signage along the backstop.
