Klover Products, the parent company of Sound Shark Audio, was recently informed that the first of its patent applications had been approved by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. This patent should be published in the next four to six weeks. It covers the construction of the larger parabolic microphones (collectors) commonly used for professional sports broadcasts. Some of the features covered by the patent include the modular construction and the incorporation of vibration isolation.
Fox Sports uses the large, 26-inch parabolic collectors for all of its football broadcasts and has begun to use the 16-inch parabolic collector for coverage of MLB playoffs and used them at the last World Series.
A second patent application, which is still in the examination process, will cover the unique design of the Sound Shark.
