A New KLOVER MiK 09 Bundle Specifically for Bird ID Apps!
In the first week of June, we were honored to meet with several staff members from The Cornell Lab of Ornithology in Ithica, New York. The afternoon we arrived, they treated us to a tour of Macaulay Library and the Yang Center. The following morning, they met us in the Shindagin Hollow State Forest to test our KLOVER MiK products.
Our discussion largely revolved around enhancing the audio captured with smartphones for their Merlin Bird ID app. While we had the necessary components, the Lab's staff expressed a specific need for a package to streamline the purchasing process and the use of our products.
The Cornell staff suggested we build a new product package based on the KLOVER MiK 09. This bundle would include a smartphone-compatible microphone, a wind cover, and a pistol grip, providing everything a bird watcher requires when using bird identification apps such as ChirpOMatic, Smart Bird ID, or Merlin.
As a result, we have created the KLOVER MiK 09 Birding Bundle, a user-friendly solution that enhances the birdwatching experience. Using the KLOVER MiK 09 ensures that users of bird identification apps, can focus on birdwatching and identifying a particular bird without the stress of installing a microphone or adjusting its position as they trundle through the forest.
The standard microphone supplied with this package is a Sennheiser XS-LAV-USB-C. This omnidirectional lavaliere microphone with a USB-C Connector plugs directly into smartphones or tablets. It is known for its high-quality sound capture, ensuring that every bird call is crystal clear and compatible with a wide range of devices. Wireless earbuds or headphones (not included) are required to monitor your audio while recording on your smartphone. (Some bird identification apps, such as Merlin, do not allow the user to monitor the audio that is being captured.)
If the user wants to use cabled headphones with their smartphone, two optional microphones with 3.5mm TRRS connectors are available, along with a USB-C adapter. The USB-C end of the adapter plugs into a smartphone. At the other end of the adapter are two 3.5mm TRS jacks, one for the microphone and one for headphones.
